NEW PR! NEW STUFF! !

OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG I did a new personal record for my 10KM(not sure if its the actual distance but I measured using my gf's car). 1Hour 10mins and 30seconds! My previous best timing would probably be from last month's Men's Health Run 2008 - 10.3KM Clocking 1Hour 11Mins 38Seconds. Here is what I ate throughout the day before the run. Pictures of the roti telur is shown later in this post.

11.00am Breakfast after Sunday mass 1 piece of roti telur Some mee goreng that my brother in law ordered. He gave me some to try. Damn the chicken curry was freaking salty. 1 cup of Teh C ice

1.00pm 2 Donuts - 1 is choc with peanut butter. the other was with dark choc 1 cup of coffee

3.30pm Noodles + some meat.

4.00pm 1 Nuts delight Energy Bar

5.10pm Ran 10KM

I did my first 10KM training with my gf 2 week ago (21.09.2008) and it felt good. For the first time, I've ran 10KM as my training. I paced with her and we both finished in 1Hour 12 to 15mins. But the main point is, we've both completed 10KM and we ran TOGETHER. What more could I ask? I've been running alone all these while and now to have my love one running with me. Priceless. I'm arrived in office today and saw my colleague, Edmund who just came back from US last week but only came in to office this week. My LiveStrong Wristbands are here!!!!.

As usual, MORE FOOD. People who are on a hunger strike, BEWARE!

First stop, Simply Penang @ 1 Utama Old Wing. Ok, as you can see from the picture, it was dated back 20.09.2008. Don't complain, I wuz busy. Me and my gf was at this cafe called Simply Penang. The food looks nice and decent from the banners displayed outside so we decided to give it a try. Upon sitting down and browsing through the menu, I somehow felt alittle deja vu.

True enough, I have eaten at one of their branches before. It was near my home at Puchong. And...the food wasn't really that nice. Anyway, since it was a different branch, might as well give it a go. We proceeded with our orders and I began snapping pictures haha.

Photobucket
My "Cham" and my gf's Chin Chau. The Cham(coffee and tea) was not bad. Not too sweet and the mix was balanced. Well I ain't a food critic but it was good enough for me.

Photobucket
My Nasi Lemak. They even gave me extra sambal and gravy for the curry. Pretty slick customer service haha.

Photobucket
Da Chicken Curry. The rice was alittle hard but no biggie as it still tastes nice and fragrant.

Photobucket
Soon after my nasi lemak arrived, my gf's Assam Laksa was ready.

Photobucket
Since I couldn't see wtf they have under the whole pile of soup, I asked my sayang to demo sikit haha.

Second stop, Kafe Joy! Man, you HAVE TO GO THERE. Highly recommended. The food is awesome, fresh and well presented. Drinks? From your usual soft drinks to herbal drinks and ice blended juices BUT they have some really weird combination. You guys heard of Old Town White coffee? They have Joy ORANGE White Coffee, which I ordered.

Photobucket
The shop and yes, I took this while standing at the junction with a small triangle divder.

Photobucket
The entrance.

Photobucket
On the left you have this huge mirror.

Photobucket
The place where your drinks are prepared.

Photobucket
Cashier =P Check out the Retro radio next to the modern radio.

Photobucket
Whatever this means. All I can read is the word "TA!" for big.

Chow time! Glorious food has landed. First up, drinks!

Photobucket
My Joy Cafe Orange White Coffee, not bad. But if given a choice, I would get another drink. Don't get me wrong, it is nice.

Photobucket
Cucumber and plum orderd by Joanne and Sai Mei :)

Photobucket
My Dry Curry Chicken Noodle. THIS IS AWESOME! And guess what...it is only RM6.90. Small portion? Wait till you finish it. The noodles are made by themselves! NOT THOSE WAN TAN MEE NOODLES. The texture, my God, how do they say it? Q Q ? By the time you finish it, it's pretty filling.

Photobucket
It came with this soup as well haha, however, I only took afew sips of it.

Photobucket
Next up, Joanne ordered this Siamese Assam Laksa(We all heard she said Sai Mei's Assam Laksa when ordering HAHAHAHA). She couldn't finish it as it was a big bowl. Certainly looks good.

Photobucket
Sai Mei ordered the Joy Nasi Lemak Special I think. Chicken Rendang on the left and Sotong with sambal on the right. She said the rice was very fragant as well.

Here is the address of Kafe Joy:

Third stop, Nyonya Colors @ 1 Utama just last weekend. Was hungry and wanted to grab a quick bite.

Photobucket
My gf ordered Dry Curry Laksa, which doesn't look dry to me. =.="

Photobucket
I decided to try the Thai Mee Siam + Honey Lemon Chicken this time. Not bad, the chicken was not hard as rock like some reheated fried chicken. At least they are consistent.

Fourth Stop, was at some mamak near the church on Sunday(yesterday lah). Ordered Roti Telur.

Photobucket
Where is d egg?

Photobucket
Oh, there. Damn did they really use 1 egg?

Last stop. This is THE BEST. I repeat, THE BEST FOOD. My sister wanted to have a small family dinner as my mum was down from Sitiawan over the weekend. Attendees:

  • My Mum
  • My Sister
  • Brother In Law
  • His Mum
  • His Brother
  • Me
  • My girlfriend.
  • My grandma

Photobucket
Try taking pictures of food while you're drooling. HAHAHA Okay, lame joke but wasted, I missed a clear shot.

Photobucket
While waiting for my sister and mum to set up whatever is remaining for dinner. In the pic L-R: My gf, Kenneth's mum and my grandma.

Photobucket
:)

Warning: The following dishes were cooked by my sister, supervised by 2 of the greatest chefs: My Mum and grandma.

Photobucket
Chai Sim! Is that what its called? Correct me if I'm wrong please.

Photobucket
LOR BAK! WITH hardboiled eggs and tau pok!!!!!!!!

Photobucket
Chicken Curry. But they used some Ibrahin packet stuff. God knows what that is but it tasted like home cook anyway.

Photobucket
Long Beans :)

Photobucket
Oh Yeah, bring on the tang hun and cabbage.

Recovered from Backache....NEW LAYOUT

W'sup....I've been away from blogging for awhile. Reason? A freaking backache. Happened like 2 weeks back but the pain got severe 07.09.2008. I had to work from home last week(Monday Till Friday). God I love this company. Flexible and understanding :D well at least in my situation.

I didnt see the doctor till Thursday night after being nagged by my mum. At that point, my lower back was already 80% recovered. But the doctor gave me some medicine to speed up the recovery process. The pain was almost as good as gone on Friday morning. Thanking my good graces, I started running on Saturday although abit slow after 1 week off.

Time is starting to run out. 19th of October is about 30 days from the time of posting. And I haven't really completed another 10KM run on my own. So what the fuck? I am serious about trying to obtain a medal this time. But so many things holding me back. Apart from my lower back issue, its raining #$%#@$#@$!! every fucking evening. It's not that I don't appreciate the God given rain but seriously....everyday? at 5.30pm~6.00pm.

ANYWAY.....It was the moon cake festival over the weekend and I sort of celebrated it after so many years. I accompanied my gf and her parents to their relative's place at KL 2 weeks back(06.09.2008). Sort of like a family gathering and also to celebrate the moon cake festival. Too early? No idea, aku ikut aje. It was a potluck dinner so everyone brought a little of something to eat. My gf's mum did her famous bacon pizza. Homebaked baby homebaked.

Sorry I somehow forgot to take pictures of the food. How could I? OMG. So sorry! =P

Arrived at my gf's cousin's place in the evening. And...I kinda missed their dog. A really buffed up dog. If you see this dog from the front, it looks like a muscleman pose.

Photobucket
This dog has been taking protein shakes!

Everyone was chatting and all, playing mah jong. And for someone that doesn't know how to play mah jong except for the "PONG!" in mah jong, I did this:

Photobucket
Yes, I am bored =P

We finished dinner and started lighting up the lanterns.

Photobucket

Photobucket
My sayang, hanging 1 of the lanterns.

Photobucket
Damn, I should have taken this picture with her. (=.=")

Photobucket
It started drizzling, so we moved up to the balcony.

Photobucket
Simple and yet the tradition lives on :)

Photobucket
Did this bring back some childhood memories?

As usual, I would spend time with my sayang over the weekends. This week.. MOVIE TIME!. Was at our favourite shopping mall, 1 Utama...parked at the basement of the new wing and when we got up we were amazed with the decors done by the 1 Utama management(Or the company hired by them haha); it was beautiful.

Photobucket
White is always nice :)

Photobucket
:)

We headed straight to GSC to get the movie tickets. Unfortunately, the seats for Money No Enough 2 were too near the screen so we ended up watching The Love Guru. It was hilarious although it felt kinda fast paced. The movie, however, was enjoyable. You'll definitely have a good laugh :)

Later on that night, we lit some lanterns again. :) This time, it was at her place.

Guess what'z in this pot?

Photobucket
Here it is with flash for a clearer picture :D

Photobucket
Finally, just the two of us :D My K800i was placed on her Vios and a taken by timer, of course.

Photobucket
Dia pulak kecoh....lol

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket
Last shot for the night! Too bad the flash made the lanterns look like crap.

I stayed over my gf's place as I wanted to accompany my gf and her parents to HUKM. Her parents are the ones going for their check up under some Malaysia Cohort project. More details about it can be found HERE

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket
In the pic, my gf's dad waiting for his turn for one of the last checkup.

One of the person in charge gave us the wrong information. He said we could have our breakfast after test 3. So me, my gf's dad and mum went to the pantry for some mee hoon and stuff. When it was my gf's dad's turn for the final check up, he couldn't proceed because he has eaten when he shouldn't have. %&%$#$%#%$#%#$ That bugger gave us the wrong information thinking it was okay to eat. No worries. My gf's mum and dad went over the next day to complete the check up.

But the whole process of this Cohort is really tiring. Not because of the queue but because of the procedure. After completing the entire check up routine, we are required to go for an interview session for nearly 1 hour. We got there around 8.30am and left about 3.00pm. My gf was tired as well, however, I walked around, taking more pictures LOL.

Photobucket
The procedures

Photobucket
The booklet which has tons of questions for you to answer in different languages. Malay, English, Tamil and Mandarin. Not bad.

Photobucket
My 2nd cup of coffee Doh. Nescafe 3 in 1

Photobucket
The cooling box which is used to store blood samples before being transported for processing.

Photobucket
Pretty cool huh?

Photobucket

Photobucket
She was hungry as well, so I took 2 packets of biscuits for her :D

We litted lanterns again for that night, just for fun and to finish up the candles.

Photobucket
I kinda like this angle :D

Photobucket
Once again, the tortoise wasn't spared.

Photobucket
She was lazy that night

Photobucket
I love you :) as always

FOOD POST NEXT!!!!!!!

So who said guys don't cook? :D My grandma wasn't around and my mum had prepared some pork meatballs for me. What did I do to the left over rice and meat? WALAH:

Photobucket
Fried Rice with garlic and meatballs. Topped with lettuce and fried shallots!

As you probably know, I run quite alot ALTHOUGH not long distance apart from joining 10KM events. I wanted to try if it makes a difference to drink Isotonic drink after my runs, so I wanted to try it out this week or so. I was at Giant yesterday(17.09.2008) and I couldn't really tell which is better? 100plus or 7 Up Revive?

Photobucket

Photobucket

In the end I chose 7 up Revive. Reason? Well, 7Up Revive said there was some Vitamin Bs in it...so why not? Secondly, the price for 6 cans of 7 Up Revive pack(RM6.XX) was cheaper than 100plus(RM7.XX).

Ok now comes my health section. I've measured my blood pressure at my gf's place using her Omron device. The last time I measured, my blood pressure was 135/85 but it should be around that range. And as I mentioned earlier, I was having a bad backache so I decided to ask the doctor to check my blood pressure as well. It came out to be 130 / 95

So early this week being 15th of September, I have started eating OATS!. Yes, be it instant or cooking type but I bought instant anyway.

Quick check:
15.09.2008 - 4 scoops of Oats + 1 teaspoon of sugar(I ran out of condensed milk)
16.09.2008 - 5 scoops of Oats + 1 teaspoon of sugar
17.09.2008 - 5 scoops of Oats + 1 teaspoon of sugar

I bought Honey and Raisins from Giant yesterday

Photobucket
I saw some places selling 375G for RM14.99. WTF and I bought this 500G for RM11.99 Yes I'm GOOD =) Things you benefit from shopping with your grandma or mum. LEARN IT KIDS!

Photobucket
I can't remember how much this costs...RM5.XX? RM6.XX? RM7.XX?

These next few pictures are kinda random. Just something I cooked in the morning for my lunch. As the date shows, this is on 18.09.2008, Thursday. The ingredients? 2 Ramly Chicken Burger Patties, Loads of garlic, some sesame oil, kicap pekat and of course, Cintan Broadnoodles.

Photobucket
By the way, I STEAM the patties before pan frying them. This removes LOADS of oil. Dont la say steam all the way through, can you imagine? STEAMED burger patties? LOL.

Photobucket
All packed and ready to go.
