Happy Chinese New Year!!

Wazzup wazzup...nothing like enjoying a cup of Oldtown Coffee and updating my blog on a Monday afternoon. I slept around 3.00am last night and woke up around 8.45am. Had to be in church at 9.00am and I woke up at 8.45am? So wtf right? Yes, I WAS LATE. My sister actually called me at 7.30am to ask me which church I was going to. So I said ok lah, I'll go to St. Francis Xavier(SFX). So I quickly showered and all and off we(me, my grandma and the maid) went to SFX.

Traffic was smooth, as everyone was away at their hometown. I arrived at SFX around 9.20am and dropped off my grandma and the maid first while I looked for a parking space. Church was full....DOH but I manage to find one near the school area. After I got to church, I spotted my brother in law, Kenneth and my sister. So I sat down with my grandma while the priest was already giving the homily. Abit bad on my end for coming to church late but better than never. Sorry God :(

After mass, the SFX tradition was to give ang pow and blessed mandarin oranges to EVERYONE. So as usual, the hospitality ministers of the church made an announcement regarding how the ang pows and mandarin oranges will be given out. It started out smoothly but soon after, everyone was coming in for all sides. Since I wasn't in a hurry, we queued up patiently.

That is Father O.C Lim.

Photobucket
Whops, the guy's hand was blocking this picture, that is my grandma :D

Photobucket
The guy in the red chinese suit is Father Simon

Photobucket
Soon to be my turn v(^.^)

After collecting our ang pows and blessed mandarin oranges, we went home for brunch. I was very hungry as I only had a few sips of coffee before leaving for church. Heated up yesterday's food - Chicken Curry, some veggies and lor bak! That was about 40minutes ago? I'm enjoying my cup of Oldtown Coffee now as I'm updating my blog. That was for today.

What about Reunion Dinner? No pictures? Well sorry, I forgot to take pictures of the FOOD. My parents couldn't come back from Sitiawan because of work but they should be coming TODAY yes...TODAY. 26.01.2009. So the relatives that were here for the reunion dinner last night was my uncle Meng whom I stayed with during my college days, my cousins - Kevin and Gary, Gary's soon to be wife, Leanna(God, I hope I spelt it correctly), uncle Sonny and aunty Theresa.

Here are some random post :D

23.01.2009

This was on Friday where I went out for lunch. It has been a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNGGGGGGGGG time since I last went out for lunch. If you know me, I have been bringing my lunches from home. But anyway, being Friday and I was going to office from my gf's house, I didn't pack any food so I decided to join my colleagues to go out for lunch. I was out for lunch with Chew and Sim, great friends and colleagues from the same batch when I first joined the company.

Anyway, we went to this vegetarian restaurant which was CHEAP!

Photobucket
At Sri Petaling

Photobucket
Out of the 2 Chinese character, I only know the word "ONE"

Photobucket
LOOK AT THE RECEIPT!~ BUSINESS IS GOOD. Actually, she just didn't tear them after each transaction HAHA

Photobucket
The place was clean....nice

Photobucket
And I just had to try a VEGETARIAN NASI LEMAK!! Honestly, its not bad. RM2.00 only! Since it was vegetarian, there are no eggs.

24.01.2009

Saturday! WEEKENDS ARE HERE. What did I do? I walked out to get the morning papers because my grandma wants to see if there are any promotions at Giant or even Tesco. After that, I started off the morning with washing my car! Its been a really really really really long time since I last washed my car and I must say, the paint of the car is now SHIT. Being a 14 years old car(I think?), the coat of paint is seriously tarnished. I've resprayed the whole car before but it has been so long. To make matters worse, it's a WHITE car. Do you have any freaking idea how hard it is to maintain a white color car? Anyway, I am planning to respray my car soon. Sort of a "reviving my car" project.

Photobucket
What else do you need to wash you car? That is just the car shampoo in a Tesco mineral bottle.

Photobucket
Ah...nice and clean.

Photobucket
Still looks good eh?

Why didn't I censor my plate number? Why should I? Do I need to? Are you going to look for me? Drop me a note at the wiper? Simple answer - I'm lazy. ROFLWTFBBQSAUCEFLYINGSPAGHETTIMEATBALLS.

With that done, next up to do list, LAUNDRY. Not much but still, everyone gotta do it at some point.

Photobucket
With the hot weather these days during Chinese New Year, you only need to dry them for afew hours.

After that, it was time for breakfast. Nothing like a cup of Oldtown Coffee and toast!

Photobucket

You know what is amazing, simple breakfast like this would be so expensive at shops like er..Oldtown or those with the similar ambiance. Sure the bread they used are different and softer ones but to eat those at those places? Doesn't really make sense to me. With the current state of the economy, we gotta watch our spending. Eggs are still fucking expensive and SMALL in size. A can of tuna in olive oil is RM4.45 when previously it was RM3.59~ RM3.99. I just don't get it. Petrol price is now RM1.80 per liter, why aren't costs for products coming down? Fucking doesn't make sense.

When the price of petrol was increased, EVERYONE was bitching and rioting. Now that it is relatively cheap, FOOD IS STILL FUCKING EXPENSIVE. I'm not talking about Chinese New Year season but majority of the products out there are still expensive. Do you get it?

Expensive petrol price = people coming together, rioting, complaining, suffering etc etc etc

Cheap petrol but prices for food/products are STILL sky high = .................*birds flying by*

Hello? which is more important? FOOD or your fucking petrol? No sound? What are all the ministers doing? Fucking government are not monitoring prices of food and products. Eggs are so small these days that it would just slip through the plastic egg trays in fridges. Pffftt.

What can we do as suffering consumers? Spend wisely! I don't mean we should be cheap but we gotta spend carefully. I could buy a new guitar now with just a snap of a finger. No problem but would I be really fully utilizing it? Don't get me wrong, I love music and I still play my guitar often but I have more important commitments to deal with. So you see the practicality here? I already have a guitar so I should use my money on something else...which is why I bought my new computer in 2007 muahahahahahaha..

Ok, enough of emo post. Next up, FOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

25.01.2009

Went out with my sayang to 1 Utama. Traffic was relatively smooth to 1 Utama as everyone was away BUT it was still pretty packed at 1 Utama.

Photobucket
Hhhm, I look tired in this picture huh?

My gf had some stuff to buy and I bought something for my Grandma as well. I bought for my grandma a new pair of sandal as her current one was a little torn. Where did I buy it? From BATA. Yes....BATA - Buy And Throw Away

With that done, we went to grab some food as it was already close to 3.00pm (I think). We proceeded to myNEWS Cafe. We have been there a couple of times and the prices are more reasonable compared to Secret Recipe.

Photobucket
I bet you've passed by there before.

Photobucket
A small bowl of tom yam soup - RM3.50

Photobucket
Some prawns, crap sticks and fishballs...okay la, CRAB sticks

Photobucket

Photobucket
Taste? Yummy...refreshing as well.

My gf and I ordered the same dish. myNEWS fried rice.

Back to MONDAY~!!! 26.01.2009

Now that Chinese New Year is here, its all about luck and auspicious days. Year of the Ox right? What is in for us PIGS? I was the reading the papers today and they had this section in The Star about zodiacs and all.

Photobucket
I'm actually quite scared after reading it.

Some of it was quite relevant HAHA. For example, TAKE NOTE: GET ENOUGH SLEEP, which I have not been getting enough because of late nights of gaming but hey, its the holiday season and after the past few weeks of stress in the office...I want to relax. But overall, I find it pretty okay for PIGS :D I still believe we make our own fate and all. God is still above all!(Right Eddie? :D muahaha. EAT SLEEP LIFT! AND RUN!)

Next up? DOTA!!! OI EDDIE FASTER. GARENA!

What a bummer...

Imagine this....you wake up and hope that you could finish your work. You expect to receive some new emails with the information you need to get you up to speed with your work. Not exactly in my case. I came into office, boot up my laptop and checked my email. 1 NEW EMAIL. Not the exact information I was expecting but there was some use for it. It gave me some confirmation about the programming that I have been doing which is correct. I had a project meeting yesterday evening around 6.10pm. The bad news is everyone's Chinese New Year Leaves are cancelled. *WTF faces*. Ah well, it was expected because they want most of our work to be completed by END JANUARY....meaning the week of CNY la. Good news is? No good news? I don't know. It was just project updates on what is going to happen in February although not detailed....was an informal meeting, no presentation slides. But anyway...here I am, wanting to finish my program and test it BUT there is JUST NO INFORMATION. Worse of all, 1 part of the program which I require to write/update records is still NOT FINALIZED.

Photobucket
Ain't it?

When I first started off my work in the team, I was shitting in my pants nearly everyday. I know what my requirements for my tasks are but don't have a freaking idea on how to go about it. I'm stressed out almost everyday(Edmund knows it through my emo post like THIS hahaha). I told myself that it's not end of the world, everyone is also having a shitty time so who am I to complain and whine right? Furthermore, I'm a senior consultant so I gotta act like one. I keep telling myself positive thoughts to be calm and collected.

Photobucket

Searched through forums and ask some colleagues and things were starting to get better. Infact, I'm pretty okay with doing what I do now. Although its just the tip of the iceberg, its still knowledge which I find it very useful.

Right now, I've prepared the framework of my program so that when I have the information I need, I could just amend the codes and TEST. But till date, zero. Critical information required are still being prepared and FINALIZED in the specification. So for now, I'm like checking my program through and through because its Object Oriented so I might screw up somewhere. Honestly, its like

Photobucket
NO CNY HOLIDAY aaaaaaaaAAAAGGGRRRHHHHH

I believe hard work pays off at the end of the day. Sure it is a dog eat dog world but you create your own world. If you think your work sucks, think about other people who are looking for a job? I'm happy with where I am...I don't mean that I'm content but I'm appreciate what I have now. Sometimes we forget all the minor things in life and all we do is complain.

"I wished I had a better car"
"I wished I had a better guitar"
"I wished I had a LCD screen"
"I wished I had a bigger house"
"I wished I had a better computer"
And the list goes on.

Instead of all these wishful thinking, have you thank God that you actually HAVE them right now? Imagine those that don't have the privilege of owning them. How would they feel?

Eh eh, emo post again. Ahahahaha ok lah its Friday, its not that bad :D

See, a smile helps

One important lesson in life is still never to give up.

Random crapZ

I woke up this morning around 9.00am......washed up and walked to get the morning papers. And the thing that caught my attention was PAS wants to ban Rihanna's concert. Seriously, don't they have better things to do? The same old bullshit... insulting our culture, skimpy clothes, bad influences and better yet, now they are using the war in Gaza too!. Fantastic isn't it? Here is the bullshit that PAS is whining about.

I do listen to Rihanna's song but haven't really checked her out yet as in er pictures and biography? Yes, she is that oblivious in my eyes because I listen to other genre of music- Rock, Punk Rock, Metal, Death Metal, Trash Metal, Melodic Metal, Power Metal...K-Pop(GEE GEE GEE GEE BABY BABY BABY). Well, I'm sure you guys know her stuff but if you want to check her info, just check it out HERE for quick reference.

Honestly, she is pretty hot :) For those who say no, seriously, which planet did come from? Some random pictures of Rihanna

Photobucket

Photobucket
Sorry don't know what brand that bra is...

Photobucket

Photobucket

If she is really such a bad influence, why not ban other artists as well? They haven't ban television, radio and internet right? These fucktards never learn that by creating such bullshit each time an international artist is invited to perform here is also deteriorating the country's image. Really, as though you and your likes are so goodie good good that you guys are pure from sinful thoughts and acts? PLEASE. I know, I don't mean ALL and I'm not a racist. Just because 1 apple is rotten doesn't mean the whole crate is!

I guess the organisers have informed her by now all the rules and regulation. So she would probably perform in her most decent attire.

Under my umbrella ella ella ella

Eh, eh Eh eh Eh

Now for some random post!
These are the drugs that I take everyday. Even my colleague Gladys calls them drugs! hahahaha No choice, she sees me take them everyday in office as she sits next to me :)

Photobucket

prepared for Chinese New Year?

Monday, January 19, 2009

Nice weekend!

1 more week till Chinese New Year. Work has been hectic as usual. With all the uncertainties around, I am not even sure if the program can be completed on time. Like I said, don't fret, find solution, talk to colleagues and seek help. It's not all about programming, communication is the vital too because I'm communicating with some people at UK. If they are not sending across information to me, I'm not able to do my work efficiently. So I have to bug them into order to get the things that I need. Surprisingly, they WANT such behaviour from us(me and my colleagues in this project) here in Malaysia because they are busy! Since they put it that way, we call and we call and we call them every evening to ask questions.

Eh, wait, I shouldn't be talking about work JUST YET. I had a nice weekend with my gf. Not to mentioned I ate my favorite food :D

17.01.2009

Me and my gf was at 1 Utama over the weekend as usual and we wanted to watch a movie. Manage to find a parking space within the first 5 minutes which is awesome. Walked around and proceeded to GSC, only to find there was NO CROWD. True enough, there wasn't any good movies to watch. We did some window shopping and finally, I bought a tshirt from SODA :) It was already close to 4.00pm at that time so we decided to grab a bite at Sushi King. She had some cravings for Curry Udon ever since Genki Sushi was no longer around.

Once seated at Sushi King, there wasn't much sashimi on the conveyer belt. There were only a few customers then, so I guess they didn't want to waste the food. Wasn't really bothered about that, we ordered our stuff.

Photobucket
Green Tea :)

Photobucket
I wanted to try the rice instead of udon.

Photobucket
My gf ordered this new one as well.

Photobucket
This was promotion so we decided to give it a shot.

Photobucket
1 of my favorite, Golden Ball

First, the Hotate Massago was servered. Followed by my curry rice and spicy ramen. The odd thing was my curry rice had TWO half hard boiled eggs( 1 biji la) while my gf's spicy ramen was suppose to have half an egg.

Andrew: "Excuse me, doesn't this spicy ramen come with half of a hard boiled egg?
Waiter: "Oh sorry, I'll bring it for you now. Sorry ya? *smiles*

After a few minutes, the waiter brought out a small bowl with the egg inside. ROFL hahahhaha Tak kisah la. We are suppose to get it anyway.

The soup curry rice.

Spicy Jigoku Ramen

The scallop Sashimi

Photobucket
The picture showed alot of fish roe but in reality only a little was used. F'kers.

The golden ball took awhile because they had to fry it or something. It was served last but nevertheless, we enjoyed it as it was freshly cooked.

Photobucket

After our meal, I wanted to get my new Multi Vitamin so we popped by Guardian for awhile. This promoter was asking me what was I looking for so I told her "Multi Vitamin". She introduced to me this brand which I have never heard before but she was saying it is good and giving examples of how it helped her friend bla bla bla. I asked "What is the difference between this brand and Blackmores? She said Blackmores was more towards chemical while Bio Grow was closer to natural sources. In the end, I decided to give it a try.

Cashier: "Nanti encik pergi ke kaunter dekat belakang untuk lucky draw ya?"
Andrew: "Oh okay..thanks.

Went to the back, showed them my receipt and dipped my hand into the lucky draw box. Took 1 of the coupon, scratched it and saw "MYSTERY GIFT!" And the mystery gift is......

4 packs of tissue! w00t MYSTERY GIFT SIUT!!!!

I know this might be lame but I actually bought a local movie......IMPAK MAKSIMA! Our version combination of Fast And Furious with Initial D. I was bored okay so might as well try this shit out. It was the same price as the VCD so I took the DVD version of course. Doesn't make sense does it? VCD RM19.90 and right next to it, DVD RM19.90. WTF wei?

Photobucket
No idea what the storyline is about

Photobucket
No idea who are the actors and actresses.

After shopping and all, we got home, changed and went for a short run around the housing area. Me and my gf ran together for 15 minutes when she said she is feeling tired. She went back home while I carried on running to test my knee. I ran for about 26 minutes with no pain on my right knee. I was happy! Really Happy. You have no idea how dreadful it is, not being able to run. I walked for a couple of minutes more to cool down and stretched before walking back to the house. What a day!

18.01.2009

Sunday Sunday... Had a good night's rest and once I was awake, I was already thinking about what to have for breakfast. I told my gf "Lets go to Uptown for Nasi Lemak". She said "Again?" ahahahaha. Still groggy, I showered and got changed....went for my favorite nasi lemak! Village Park, yeah!

As soon as I turned into the junction where Village Park was located, it was PACKED. Cars were seen double parking(usual sight at Uptown) and parked in the middle of road. I was like walau....where am I going to park...sien lor....we got here too late(it was about 9.45am I think). Just when I thought there wasn't any hope of finding a nearby parking space, there was one =P in the middle part of the road(well, if you're at Uptown you will understand what I mean. )

Business was extremely good for Village Park. Not only was all the tables occupied but there was even a long queue for take aways. Once again, my gf and I were lucky to find a table outside. We sat down and soon later got our orders taken. It did take awhile for our food and drinks to arrive but that was also due to my constant checking with the waiter regarding my order.

Photobucket
Our teh tarik and teh si panas came first.

Photobucket
AND THE MAIN COURSE!

With our stomachs filled, we went to Giant Hypermarket to shop for some groceries. Remember I said I bought Impak Maksima? Well, at least the cars were cool and they don't end up being used as a mascot for selling hot dogs like our Malaysia's super hero.

Photobucket
BELI LAH HOT DOG 1901! CICAKMAN kena makan juga!

Later that evening, I was suppose to head over to my sister's condo gym to work on my back, triceps and legs but my sister was still at my house in Puchong. I ended up running again but this time, me and my gf ran the bigger loop at her housing area which is about 2.5KM per loop. She managed to run one loop before stopping. I asked her to rest because her knee still needs strengthening. I'm still happy that she ran with me. I will remind her to take her Glucosamine daily. I ran for about 25 minutes today and I don't want to push it too much as my knee just recovered. I plan to do a long run this week, but I don't know when.

Ever since I injured my right knee cap, I have been taking my supplements diligently EVERYDAY. I have been taking:
  • 1 Multi Vitamin tablet
  • 2 Seven Seas Fish Oil capsules
  • 2 Glucosamine tablet
  • 2 Spirulina capsules
Thank God for a good weekend last week despite the stress at work. Things seems to be getting better for both work and personal events. Wish me luck!

AMEN!
