First up, I went to the Levi's Wareshouse Sales at Damansara(Atria shopping complex) about 2 weeks ago. It was the third day since it started so I was not expecting much from this visit.
To my surprise...wasn't too crowded.
Nothing much left...ah well
Guess what..............I bought something! Woo hoo! A new pair of jeans!
Hello there!

Hello there!
My first pair of running socks finally Rested In Peace. So happened that my socks are from Nike. Note: This is not an advertorial!
Everyone learns from mistakes. When I first started running, I used to run with normal cotton socks which was thick and HOT and would cause blisters during long runs. My friend said it was because cotton-made socks are too thick and keeps the sweat from being wicked away. Soon after, I started using these so called socks made for sports - Tactical socks. Sounds good huh?
I bought 2 new pairs :)
McDonald Olympic Run is set on the 12th of July and my colleague was kind enough to accompany me as well as to guide me on how to get to Wisma OCM(Olympic Council of Malaysia) to collect my race kit. We left TPM around 12.00pm and arrived at Wisma OCM around 12.20pm. There wasn't any long queue but what shocked me was that they have not finished printing the bibs for Mens Open 7KM. What the hell? What is wrong with organisers nowadays? There are AMPLE amount of days(heck even months) before the race kit collection day, how could they give such an answer? Same case for the Standard Chartered KL Marathon 2009. The person in charged told me that they will set up a booth on the race day itself for those who have not collected their bib. I ain't gonna go back there just for the bib so I told him fine, I'll collect it on race day and collected only the t-shirt.
Proceeded for lunch with a nice bowl of laksa at Taman Desa@Old Klang Road :)
On Saturday(11.07.2009), me and my sayang were at 1 Utama for some shopping. After God-Knows-How-Many-Years, I finally had my chance to eat at Carl's Jr. The reason is...me and my gf seldom have burgers for lunch/tea/dinner. And this happened to be somewhat of a tea time meal :D Plus the McDonalds Run is on the next day so I used carbo-loading as an excuse.
Had to wait for our burgers to arrive
Free flow of 100plus + lemon WOO HOO!
His - Portobello Burger
LOOK AT THE SIZE OF IT
YUMMY
Hers - Teriyaki Burger
The damage. One of the reason we don't dine here often :P
So with all the eating and shopping done. It was time to head home(my gf's place) for an early rest. Since I had no bib number, all I did was checking out the running t-shirt. Yeap, not a running vest but a t-shirt. But don't get me wrong. I like the t-shirt as it was pretty cool.
The back of the t-shirt.

RACE REPORT!
So with all the eating and shopping done. It was time to head home(my gf's place) for an early rest. Since I had no bib number, all I did was checking out the running t-shirt. Yeap, not a running vest but a t-shirt. But don't get me wrong. I like the t-shirt as it was pretty cool.
I slept around 10.30pm as I was thinking, it is only a 7KM run...I should do fine. I set my alarm to wake me up around 5.00am. The alarm went off once and I snoozed my phone twice. By the time I really woke up, it was 6.00am! I took a quick bath, changed and went downstairs to have my breakfast. It was just a quick breakie. 1 small Raisin bun, 1 cup of coffee and 1 Energy Bar(Fruits and Nuts).
So I left my gf's place around 6.30am, and to my horror...my car was low on Fuel...what timing. Sigh. I drove to the nearest petrol station near SS2(BHP) to refuel my car. With that done, I drove faster than usual to Dataran Merdeka. I tried my luck at Bank Negara and around Dataran Merdeka but all the parking spots were taken. I ended up parking at Bkt Aman car park.
To my surprise, I saw some friends whom just parked their car as well; One of my running friend Ija, her husband and her brother. 2 more friends met up with us and we introduced ourselves :) As I was explaining to Ija that I didnt have a bib number yet, she said she has a spare as 1 of her brother isn't running. What luck eh? :D
We were busy pinning our bibs to our t-shirt and applying some spray on heat rub. With that done, it was time to proceed to Dataran Merdeka in...10 Minutes. We chatted while walking...and we also started to slow jog to warm up. It was a pretty decent turn out despite being a 7KM run.
Da route...7KM(Blue Arrow)
I wasn't really aiming for anything in this run. All I wanted to do was to test out the new shoe :) Not an excuse but anyway...the run started pretty punctual. I don't recall if there were any "gun off" but there were alot of cheering going on by all of us - The power of unity :D
So we started off from Dataran Merdeka, the usual place for most running events. Not soon after, I was already greeted by the hills towards Bank Negara. I changed my running style alittle to utilize more of my quads for the push off. There quite a number of runners who were walking at this point. I had to zig zag alittle bit to avoid some people, but nevertheless, the shoe's cushioning was great!
After the long uphill, there was some recovery point for most of us as the ground was flat before we hit Jalan Tunku, another hill to attack. Again, I used my heel for more push off activity and to my surprise, I spotted Ija's husband right after the first water station. He had some side stitch which really slowed him down. I was still doing pretty okay till I ran back to Jalan Mahameru. I had a little side stitch myself. I slowed down my pace and walk once in awhile to ease the pain.
The discomfort was soon gone when I was running along Jalan Parlimen. My cruise mode was activated as it was relatively flat all the way till Dataran Merdeka. The shoe was really doing me good as I feel the lightness of the shoe coming into play. Upon passing Padang Merbok, I spotted a young boy, probably 4 - 6 years old, also participating in the run...really super duper cute. He was walking for awhile before hunching forward with his hands on his knees gasping for air while his sister and mum were a little ahead of him and looking back towards him. Dang, if only I had my camera. :D
Moving along, I continued my steady pace, passed the traffic lights at the intersection and I was next to Dataran Merdeka. I knew my timing won't be good enough for a medal(only 100 freaking medals =.= Why can't they give 200 instead :p ) but I wanted to try my luck. I started increasing my pace to overtake runners in my category. I ran pretty fast for the last 150meters(probably) before crossing the finishing line(and collecting the cert at the same time). 45mins 13 seconds. Not a good timing but heck, it was fun knowing that I could still attack the hills non-stop. Whatmore, its with the new Lunarglide+ :)
With this being the first event for the shoe, I find the shoe to be comfortable although a lil' tight for my taste. The headroom for the toes could be improved because there were certain point where my nail would get sort of stuck when it hits the top of the shoe...oh and by the way, my toe nails were short as I always make sure I don't end up with broken or black toe nail.
Remember I said I wore the shoe to office to help loosen the shoe up? Most of my friend said the shoe was nice, beautiful and cool but honestly, I find the colour to be too striking.
So there you have it folks. My first review of the LunarGlide+. Hope it's good enough to give you a quick view of what the shoe is like.

On a side note, my blog's THEME has nothing to do with LunarGlide+'s colours. It just so happened to be the same black and orange theme.

Get the picture?
Pro:
Lightweight - Well Ventilated for the feet
- Easy to spot yourself in pictures because of its unique colour combination(Nothing technical involved but still, a find it a plus HAHA)
- The shoe fits just nice but could use a little more space for the toes. It also feels abit tight at the top of the feet near where you would tie your shoe lace. I've tried loosening the shoe laces but it still felt a lil' tight. (I'm using 2E)
- The shoe doesn't mention Width size?
- The colour orange is kinda bright. But that is just my personal taste anyway.

thats the prob with this big name sports providers like nike, adidas & reebok. NONE OF THEM have any measurements for width of foot. its a generic width and if ur too big or small for it, try another shoe. -_-"
according to foot solutions, nike is the worst as it has the slimmest widths (on average) compared to other brands. havent gotten a nike shoe since form 5...simply because i know for a fact that this statement is true. poor design in width as well as toe spacing...
That is why they will probably come out with a new version perhaps :D
LunarStiker ? Haha
