I AM BACK!

What happened to me ever since the Orange run? Not so good. Here goes

After the Orange BHP run, my 3rd toe got black nail...

This picture was taken way back. The color is a lot darker now. I'm too lazy to take another picture but you guys get the picture.

Orange Run was on the 13.04.2008(Sunday)

I started coughing on the 17.04.2008(Thursday) and got high fever on 18.04.2008(Friday). Thinking it was a normal high fever and cough, I went to see the doctor at Poliklinik Chan near my area on 19.04.2008(Saturday). So I took my medication, rested and drank plenty of water. However, my cough and fever didnt seem to show signs of improvement.

On 20.04.2008(Sunday), went to Columbia Asia for another check up. Doctor said it's better to have a blood test to see if its viral or bacteria type of fever.

Blood Test....

After all those checks, the doctor said it was still too early to tell if it is dengue but it is a viral infection so antibiotics will not help at all. He didn't give me any extra medication and just told me to continue to take my medication and see what happens.

I was on medical leave on 21.04.2008(Monday). My high fever was playing around with me....it gets better then it comes back after a few hours. I went to office on 22.04.2008(Tuesday) thinking my high fever is gone but I was still coughing. Couldn't stand the air con in the office as I was coughing badly, I asked permission to work from home for the next 2 days.

I'm like seriously, what the fuck is going on. On the 23.04.2008, I went back to Columbia Asia to have my second blood test and the results did not show any drastic changes. Thank God it is not dengue. Again, I couldn't do my work and had to take medical leave for the next two days.

On 24.04.2008(Thursday), I felt so bad till breathing was getting difficult, hands almost numb and curling on its own...I mean fingers both left and right hand will turn inwards on its own. I was about to go to Sunway Medical Centre when my aunty quickly suggested that my grandma do this thing called "Chi Mo Tan" or something. Basically, we boiled some hardboiled eggs and with the shell still intact, wrap it with a handkerchief and rub it against my chest and back area.

IT FELT GOOD. Seriously, I could feel the heat from my body being drawn out. Feeling better, I took my medicine, and rested. Sweated ALOT that night and my body felt so much better till I think I was well again...except for the fucking cough.

Friday...25.04.2008, my sister brought me to Sunway Medical Centre for a normal check up. The doctor does general consultation but she is also a lung specialist or something. She said its better to do a X-Ray scan of my chest. Went down to ground floor to do the X-Ray and came back up to 1st floor.

"THERE IT IS....Sorry Andrew but you have to be warded. You've got some lungs infection called pneumonia*while she points at the white spots in the X-Ray picture" I went WTF * in my head of course*

I was WARDED immediately that very same day. Coincidently, that was the same day my girlfriend's mum was getting discharged. And my ward(2 bedded) was NEXT to her ward(4 bedded)

First they took some blood for more testing. Next was the needle for the drip. It wasn't painful actually. They started the drip till about Sunday morning where the doctor said I don't have to be on the drip anymore but the antibiotic is given according time i guess.

They changed it into some T-Pipe where 1 is for the antibiotics and the other for the normal drip.

The antibiotic..

Anyway, it wasn't painful till they removed the normal drip and I only had to take the antibiotics when it was time for it. They use those injection thingy but of course..without the needle. The nurse just connected it to the needle which was already sticking into me. It hurts a little when the antibiotic was being injected.

Apart from all that, I was on the road of recovery. The food was good and fresh.

So that is pretty much it...Thank God for my company's Insurance....Don't get me wrong, I DO have insurance but I used my company's ING card :)

The bill? RM2773+. For what? 4 days? 3 meals. Medication and consultation.

For now, as in REALLY NOW, I'm in the office. My lungs are recovering...the doctor told me it will take awhile before I'm fully recovered. So I won't be exercising for awhile. Heck I've lost weight.

From 71KG, I'm like 68~69KG. Its not that I want to lose any more weight...but I think I've lost my muscle mass.

Also another note, I won't be going to any gym for now. I will workout from home like I used to. Since I already know what I could do, my dumbbells would do just fine. After all, I ain't a bodybuilder but just a guy that wants to look and feel healthy.

Till then, I'll be resting.

Thanks for reading :)

The main thing is that you are fine. Take a break from running now. Recover first and you will be back stronger. And hey, the food looks pretty ok. You sure you were staying in a hospital, not a hotel? Hehe...
